The world is alive with a fever tonight, aye? At least videogamesitesthatnooneknowsaboutwise, I would say. Now lets go and see what's been happening, or not. I'm going to talk about Sonic The Hedgehog now.
Several wonderful games have been made containing our little blue hero, games like "Sonic the Hedgehog," "Sonic the Hedgehog 2," "Sonic the Hedgehog 3," "Sonic and Knuckles," and... wait a minute, why am I only mentioning ancient Genesis games? I know I am close to nothing but a nostalgic fool, but I can't have you believing that! Hmm, lets see, umm, "Sonic... Adventures" was okay I guess... ummm... "Sonic and t..." you know what? Ever since Sonic jumped into the third dimension, his games have done nothing but go down from their former glory. Why is that?
Perhaps our little blue hedgehog simply doesn't fit in the third dimension. While another direction to run certainly does give Sonic more freedom, as it would for any other character, it may take away the linearity required for him to run and roll as fast as he does in two dimensions. 2d Sonic games feel really fast. The second stage of the water zone in the third Sonic game is a good example of this. In case you haven't played the third sonic game, th The whole point of the Sonic games, or rather a major point of the Sonic games is the speed of the character.'
